This is the post about the NADA VAVI UTSAVAM of Sri Koorathazhwan held at kooram on 1.3.09,sunday.in a grand manner.On that day Sri Azhwan was taken in a pallakku to a place called CHITTERI means small lake which is at about 3 kilometers form kooram village.
There Sri Azhwan had a good Thirumanjanam by 2 p.m. and with a grand flower alankaram He returned to the temple by night after bless thousands of devotees.

ANNUAL UTSAVAM AT KOORAM

VANA BHOJANA UTSAVAM AT KOORAM

REVATHI UTSAVAM AT KOORAM

Dear viewers,
The annual prathishta utsavam of Sri Koorathazhwan is being celebrated for three days from 29.5.08 to 31.5.08 at kooram the birth place of SriAzhwan.
Sri Koorathaazhwan was decorated in a grand manner and was taken in a big pushpa pallakku on 30 th night.
Thirumanjanam was done on all the three days and Sri Nammazhwars 1000 poems were recited by many vaishnavas.
A huge gathering of devotees enjoyed the utsavam.Pl see the photos enclosed and you too enjoy.

NADA VAAVI UTSAVAM at KOORAM on FEB 24, 2008

The Kooram Temple authorities have planned to conduct an utsavam called NADA VAAVI for Sri Koorathazhwan on the 24th of Febrauary, 2008(coming sunday).

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE UTSAVAM

The utsavam is being celebrated in concern with the last Hastham Star
which was the jayanthi of Sri Koorathazhwan.Since azhwan was strained much
in the annual utsavam of previous month the utsavar (idol) is going to
be taken to a cool place and be given an abhishekam(relaxing celestial
bath).The upachara utsavam is called NADA VAAVI UTSAVAM. We request one
and all to attend this utsavam without fail and get the blessings of
SRI KOORATHAZHWAN.


The utsavam schedule is as follows:

9.00 a.m purappdu to CHITTERI, a place near kooram.

1.00 p.m Thirumanjanan (Abhishegam )

4.00 p.m Thiruppavai Sathumarai.

7.00 p.m PATHI ULA IN THE PANDHAL.

10.00 p.m. Return to Sannidhi.

EMBAR JAYANTHI 22.01.2008 TUESDAY

Dear viewers,

Today is the star birthday of EMBAR, a great Acharyan, cousin brother of Swamy Ramanuja.He was born in Maduramangalam, a village near Sriperumbudhur the birth place of Swamy Ramanuja.He was born in Punarvasu star in the tamil month of Thai.

He saved Sri Ramanuja from the evil plans of Yadavaprakasar, his Teacher and hence helped our Srivaishnava cult.He was dragged to vaishnavam by the intervention of Sri Ramanuja and Tirumalai nambigal.He was named as EMBAR, the shortened form of the name EMBERUMANAR, the other name of Swamy Ramanuja.He was also the teacher of Sri Parasara Bhattar, the son of Sri Koorathazwan.

Let us remember the EMBAR on his birthday to get His blessings.

ANNUAL FESTIVAL IN KOORAM

The annual festivel of Sri Koorathazhwan is being celebrated in Kooram from 19th to 28th Jan 08.

Following is the scheduled events with timings.

Procession (Purappadu)of Sri Koorathazhwan will take place everyday both mornings and in evenings.

Oonjal sevai will be @ 7.00 p.m. everyday.

27th Jan 08 is THE GRAND CHARIOT FESTIVAL

28th Jan 08 is SATHUMARAI which is His birthday THAI-HASTHAM.

To day is Sri Jayanthi LOrd Krishna's birthday.We need not mention krishnans birthday as srikrishnna jayanthi as sri varaha jayanthi,sri vamana jayanthi,sri Narasimha jayanthi etc because the word jayanthi is connected only to the birth of kannan.Sri Desikan also quote as JAYANTHI SAMBHAVAM VANDHE in his GOPALA VIMSATI.As such JAYANTHI means it is Krishna jayanthi only as SAHASRANAMAM means SRI VISHNU SAHARANAMAN only.

This is not only birthday of Lord krishna and also of a great Acharyan PERIA VACHAN PILLAI otherwise called SRI KRISHNA SURI,who wrote comments for all 4000 pasurams of AAZHWARS.
Sri periavachan pillai is the reincarnation of srikrishnan Himself as to learn the meanings of 4000 divyaprabhandha pasurams from agreat Acharyan,SRI NAM PILLAI,who is the KALIYAN took birth as Nampillai.

unwritten sruthi i.e. thirupavai is more precious than vedas.

TIRUPPAVADAI UTSAVAM AT KOORAM

Dear viewers

This post is about the THIRU PAVADAI UTSAVAM which is going to be performed in Kooram.This utsavam is celebrated in concern with an incident where one day it happens to rain very heavily in GOKULAM, as a result of the anger of INDRA, the king of devas on yadhavas for the reason being, that they have not given his share of sacrifice which they usually do once a year and instead gave it to THE GOVARDHANA GIRI, as directed by Lord KRISHNA.But ultimately INDRA realises his mistake and surrenders to Lord Krishna and comes to Gokulam to pay his respects to Lord Krishna.

In memory of this event the THIRU PAVADAI UTSAVAM is celebrated in every Vaishnava temple by offering a mountain of rice,vegetables and fruits to Krishna
and then distributing this prasadham i.e. ANUGRAHAM to all bakthas.

Please do come to KOORAM on 19.8.2007 sunday to witness this great utsavam which is being celebrated ONCE IN A YEAR ONLY.

JYESHTABHISHEGAM IN ARUMBAKKAM TEMPLE

This is the message about the Jyeshtabhishegam in arumbakkam temple held on 29th june 2007.The main deity Sri varadar"s kavachams gold plated was removed and 108 kalasams
